Brecklet Forest

A trail through the Brecklet Forest

Rising above the Highland villages of Ballachulish and Glencoe, the Brecklet Forest is a dense woodland of stately firs and pines, and glistening moss. The main walking trail through the forest is at once peaceful and ,mysterious, crossing gurgling streams, ruined cottages, and lookouts with fantastic views of the nearby Loch Leven. Locals often tell of woodland nymphs, seductive fairies, and even the odd banshee residing in the deepest corners of the wood, but you’re unlikely to find anything more intriguing than a pheasant or a lovable fox.
