Clouds swirl over Ao Phang Nga
Flanked on one side by the coastal villages of Krabi, and on the other by the resorts of Phuket, Phang Nga bay is a solid contender for the title of Thailand’s (if not the region’s) foremost tourist attraction – and for good reason. It is an otherworldly landscape of hundreds of craggy limestone islets rising out of aquamarine waters, made famous in movies like The Man with the Golden Gun and Star Wars III. Some islands cling to floating villages, others are covered in lush rainforests, while others still hide glittering coves accessed only by subterranean tunnels. It all makes for a fabulous view that you can endlessly gaze at – whether it be from a kayak, or from the comfort of your resort.
