Storm clouds gather over Glen Coe

Glen Coe is one of Scotland’s most scenic locales, featuring prominently in Scottish myth and lore, as well as British cinema (think Harry Potter and James Bond). The rugged and windswept landscape that makes the glen a favourite with hikers and photographers is the result of massive geological interventions, including a half-a-billion years old supervolcanic eruption and thousands of years of glacial flows.
