India’s far flung Andaman and Nicobar Islands were some of the closest pieces of land to the epicentre of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. Time has healed many wounds here, and the lay visitor will barely relate the booming tourist economy of these islands with the devastation of twelve years ago. However, solemn reminders remain everywhere you look. On the tourist hotspot of Havelock Island, beaches still sport eerie driftwood and ruined buildings in photogenic states of decay.
